An equity mutual fund is a pool of assets formed by contributions from individuals and legal entities that is invested in domestic or international stocks. These funds offer an alternative for investors with a relatively high level of risk tolerance and a long-term investment horizon. One of their main advantages is that they allow investment in portfolios (or groups) of several stocks without the need to manage the investment in each one individually.
