      Abstract

      Chile's mining sector has played a prominent role in the country's economic development in recent decades, delivering substantial rates of investment and growth. Yet, although this fact appears self-evident, there are few studies on the actual impact of mining on growth and on the other macroeconomic variables that circumscribe such growth.
