    Abstract

    In recent weeks, negative news about the world economy for 2012 has also been lowering growth expectations for the Chilean
    economy for that year. According to a survey by the Central Bank of Chile, expectations for GDP growth have fallen from a hopeful 5.5% to a less optimistic 4.5%.
